Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP)
Designed with a life cycle approach and process based model, the entrepreneurship development programmes are open to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs.
It is designed as pre-sanction stage and post-sanction stage.
Phase-I and phase-II programmes in the pre-sanction stage enable participants to seek fund sanction from financial institutions with a viable business plan. Through phase - III programmes, participants will learn how to launch and manage their business. Phase-IV will support those who need to update themselves on successful running of their projects. Paid programme were also organized for MSMEs on the following topics:-
- Financial management and fund flow and working capital management
- Tax planning for small enterprises and risk management
- Import, export opportunity mechanism
- Digital marketing
- Sales and marketing
- Usage of alternative energy
- Quality standards and lean manufacturing
- GST, E-way bill and IT Returns

1.2. Convergence Programme
Entrepreneurship development training programme is also being implemented through convergence with departments and organizations like Department of Industries and Commerce, Tamil Nadu Adi-Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation Limited (TAHDCO), Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project (VKP) and Information and Communication Technology Academy (ICTACT) in the financial year 2022-23. Through the above programmes, 12,246 entrepreneurs have been benefitted.
i) Tamil Nadu Adi-Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation Limited (TAHDCO)
The SC/ST beneficiaries who have availed financial assistance under Economic Development scheme of Tamil Nadu Adi-Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation Limited (TAHDCO) are being given training for
7 days on Entrepreneurship development programme in all the districts through EDII-TN. 1240 beneficiaries have been trained in the financial year 2022-23.
ii) Department of Industries and Commerce
In convergence with the Department of Industries and Commerce, 2412 unemployed youth have been trained under Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP). Under New Entrepreneur Cum Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS), 850 aspirants have been trained through virtual mode for the financial year 2022-23. \
iii) Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project (VKP)
Vaazhndhu Kaattuvom Project is World Bank funded project.
EDII-TN is working with VKP project to train and strengthen the enterprise community professionals (ECPs) and nano entrepreneurs in the project areas. Trainings are conducted on various topics such as business opportunity identification, market analysis, business plan and business models, strength, weakness, opportunities and concern analysis (SWOC), risk management and legal entity. After completion of training, EDII-TN is facilitating the selection of master ECPs for each block. So far,
3744 enterprise community professionals and nano entrepreneurs have been trained in the financial year 2022-23 at the cost of Rs.52.00 Lakh.
iv. Information and Communication Technology Academy
(ICT- Academy)
EDII-TN in convergence with ICT-Academy is involved in imparting online training programme to enhance the self-employment opportunities for aspiring youth. Awareness, entrepreneurship development training is given to aspiring youth in the first two stages. Mentorship is given in the
third stage to enable the selected youth to start their own enterprises. In the financial year 2022-23, 4000 aspiring Youth have been benefited through this programme.
During the financial year 2022-23, a total of 20,495 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs have been benefited under Entrepreneurship development programme at the cost Rs.93.39 lakh.
1.3. Cluster Strengthening Program
EDII-TN facilitates strengthening of the existing micro clusters developed under MSME. Entrepreneurship capacity building on structure and management of cluster, Government intervention and support system, marketing avenues, guidelines about business plan preparation are being imparted to the members of the micro clusters. So far,
318 members of 15 micro clusters have been trained by EDII-TN in the financial year 2022-23.
1.4. Mentorship Programme
Mentorship programme is being provided to aspiring and existing MSMEs to reach the business goals by successful entrepreneurs and professional mentors. During the financial year 2022 - 23, 625 MSME entrepreneurs were benefited.
